Kar Ho nominated for ACE Outstanding Mentor Award - March 2016

March 2016 – Current Builders is pleased to announce Kar Ho’s nomination to ACE’s National Outstanding Mentor competition. Committed to the ACE Broward County affiliate for the past six years, Kar Ho is a dedicated and enthusiastic mentor. He works diligently to provide students with the tools and information they require to make an educated decision about a career in the construction industry.

Kar has a demanding position as Current Builders’ BIM/Virtual Design and Construction Director He holds a Masters in Architecture and a Masters in Construction Management from the University of Florida.  Kar is passionate about technology and shares this passion with his students. Through hands on experience and exposure, Kar works with students to develop their awareness of the need for computer savvy professionals in the office and in the field because technology is a critical component in today’s construction environment.

Currently mentoring seven students from Coral Springs High School, Kar divides his time between group activities which then breakoff into one on one sessions.  The students range from sophomores to seniors with one student, Dustin Spallone graduating in May 2016 and slated to study Construction Management in the fall. Dustin describes his experience with Kar like this,

“I have been working with Kar for three years. We have built a great relationship and he has taught me so much about construction and especially the technology side. Kar and this experience definitely influenced my decision to continue studying construction and my plans for a future in the building field.”

In addition to the ACE National honor, Kar was also recognized by Broward County Public Schools in its 2016 Community Involvement Awards program.
